I have a repository with many videos named like “video1.avi”, “video2.avi” etc. Each file is composed by images and audio.

I need a class in PHP (or other languages if not possible in PHP) that just get an array i will pass. The array will contain the filenames to be merged together in the exact sequence.

For example.

If I have the following array:
$mergeVideos[0] = “video1.avi”;
$mergeVideos[1] = “video35.avi”;
$mergeVideos[2] = “video52.avi”;
$mergeVideos[xy] = “videoyz.avi”;

I would pass the array to the PHP CLASS in this way:

videoMergerFunction($mergeVideos, $myFileName);

The output of the class will be a new AVI video file that have to be named with the content of $myFileName. Video compression have to be strong. For example, a 10 seconds video should be no larger than 250KB.

I need a minor style fix done for my wordpress blog.

Hi. I need to have 5 videos converted into at least 6 common video formats including (.AMV, AVI, .MPEG, .SWF, .RAM, .MOV); and then have them upload to as many video platforms as posible (at least 10 per format including youtube, metacafe, googlevideos, dailymotion, etc)

The task also includes some basic editing to ensure that the video platform accept the content of the “same” video in diferent format

I have 5 movies I created in MovieMaker 2.6. The movies are a conglomeration of .avi clips. The CLIPS have sound and appear normal.

However, when I save the file into MOVIE form in moviemaker 2.6, the sound disappears in parts of the movies.

Can you help? The movies are 5-15 minutes long, help me save them!

I have a social website that allows the members to upload videos for use in their profile and as entries to various contests (a lot of video uploading). Currently only FLV formats are allowed for upload. I would like the members to be able to upload their videos in other formats (flv, avi, wmv, mov, 3ggp, mpeg4, etc.) to the website and then convert and display them. It is important that members are able to view these videos on their ipads and smartphones (mpeg4).

It would be a plus if the members could also record/upload using their webcams.

We have a script that is having some issues, and we need an experienced PHP/Zend coder to figure out what is wrong.

This script reads a tab-delineated flat text database and uses the info from the records to look for .AVI files in a directory. If it finds one, uploads the .AVI to our YouTube account, and uses the record info that matches the .AVI filename to populate the “title”, “tags” and “description” of the YouTube video.

This script did not take long to make and it worked perfectly for 6 months.

However, about 1 month ago, our server crashed during a cpanel upgrade, which corrupted our PHP modules. Our host restored the modules, but the settings are not exactly the same and some modules might be missing. Most of the scripts on our site work well again, but this one does not work anymore.

I suspect it may have to do with a PHP4/PHP5 issue. Most of our site runs PHP4, but this script is set up to be run by PHP 5.2.10.

Right now, when you try to run this script, you get the following error message:

I know that I can join them using cat like this:

cat file3.mpg.001 file3.mpg.002 > file3.mpg

Yet, I would like to automate this procedure so I don’t have to type in each file name. Can you write a quick shell script or one line shell script command that can find all the files in the directory in this format and join them in the format that I displayed above?

We have had programmers approach us intending to use ffmpeg for this conversion. Please be aware: ffmpeg does not work for this type of conversion! We have had three programmers try to make this work with ffmpeg, and it does not work. That is because SWF files are Adobe code, they need to be decompiled, and ffmpeg can’t decompile SWF files, only FLVs.

If you have some kind of new information or unusual approach for using ffmpeg, great! Please download the linked swf above, and use your method to convert it to MPG or AVI. If you can make that work, you’re at the top of the list. Otherwise, you will need to use a method other than ffmpeg / mencode.

Again, this is for use on a Linux Apache server. It is a CentOS4 VPS on a hosted server, which I presume has no sound or video card.

I need a program that can emulate a webcam (similar to fakewebcam, webcamsplitter, etc).

However, it needs to be able to load a list of video files into memory so that I can seamlessly switch streams at the click of a button.

For example: Video 1 is playing and I want to immediately begin playing Video 4 (without loading anything else or waiting for anything, just IMMEDIATELY begin streaming these video bytes).

This can be an avi, or mpg, whatever format is easiest to work with.

Lastly, I need a method to write something (true type font) in realtime to the video file.

An example would be a video of a blank sign, and I want to write “Hello” on it in black text that looks like handwriting.

To summarize requirements:

1. Emulate webcam

We have an auto classified ads website. On our site, all the listings are contained in a very simple, tab-delineated text flatfile. I have attached a copy of this file for your reference. The field order of our database is here: http://www.autopages.com/track/mapping.txt

On our site, we also have a directory filled with .AVI files. These are video tours of each vehicle. Each AVI filename is the same as the vehicle ID that each vehicle has in its record in the database. The vehicle ID is field 9, so if a record’s field 9 is c4l_M2977A, then there is an AVI file in that directory called c4l_M2977A.avi.

What we need is:

- A script which will upload the AVI files to our YouTube account. For each AVi file, the script must “fill in” the YouTube title, description, and tags with the text contained in the fields of that record of the database.

So, for example, for the YouTube video, the title might be:

[year] [make] [model], [price] at [dealerID] in [city], [state]

and the YouTube description might be:
[description]. $[price].

Call [phone]
[dealer name]
[dealer address]
[city], [state] [zip]

The script should have one other functionality:
- If the required .AVI file is not present in the directory, then it should SKIP the record (i.e., not try to upload it).

We need a W32 commandline tool that can:
- Screen record a flash-game in a browser window
- Can simulate random clicks to the flash-game, allowing the screenrecorder to record “real action” from the flash game.

We need following options to the command-line tool:
- “Starttime” in sec’s. for the recording (because we only want the game action from the flash-games, not the menus etc)
- “Record time” in sec’s. (duration)
- Random click rate (# clicks per sec)
- Size of screen
- Option to record the screen with ot without the mousecursor
- Location of the .avi output

The application should be able to be launched upto 10-15 concurrent times. A human webeditor will then pick the best of the 10-15 .avi’s.

The application will run on a webserver with no user-interface (only commandline). The application should preferably be able to record the flash-game on a “hidden” canvas, allowing numerous recordings at the same time.
The flash-game to be screen-recorded will run “fullscreen” in the browser window.
