Looking for a programmer & designer to build & set up backend for this site.
Site should be based off a similar style of Hulu in terms of concept of functionality and look- We are a content site that features HD videos. We dont have thousands of random videos- we have hundreds of our own original videos we want to feature. The site should focus on what we do best- creating the best videos.
We will utilize Vimeo Plus with HD Streaming service to provide all streaming video and embed them on the site (so we dont need to build a player or anything- just embed this). Each video will run on its own page when clicked on with description, tags, links to featured & similar videos, date added, ratings, and comments. In future, we will need it scalable to also add a view counter that lists how many views the specific video has gotten and other features.
We will need a backend system that is simple to use that places our videos within their pages when created and is set up for users to comment on that specific video/page (a la youtube, etc.), as well as links to similarly tagged videos and featured videos to be on each new page automatically. The backend will need to support and store user information as users must be logged in before they can comment/rate videos. Registration should be easy and once logged in they should automatically be recognized each time they come back to the site, unless they sign out. Information for registration just needs to be name, email address, zip code, and birthday.
The site will be pretty simple in concept and layout. There will be a channel bar that pops up (like hulu) for specific channels alongside Featured, Popular, and New sections at the top (on all pages). We will also feature a search bar so users can look up specific content, as well as login/signup and account info at the top of the page (all pages). The main page will have the featured video large/widescreen at the top featured prominently with title/brief description next to it, with the following sections underneath it (Each with a few video stills / title underneath them):
Featured Videos
Popular Videos
Recently Added
etc
We need this budget to include design to build out site as well (we have our logos, etc done), and it is simple design. The overall color scheme, design, and layout should match our branding. We really like the look and feel of Hulu’s website, including colors, layouts, fonts, etc., and would like to come as close as possible to this.
Please email/reply with any questions. It is pretty simple in concept and layout and the site doesnt have a ton of different pages
