Fix Mysql_fetch_array

September 13th, 2011 Comments off

Script should compare allowed domains listed in the database
to the email domain being used to join.

IF the domain is in the allowed domains list it should proceed.
If the domain is not in the allowed list ot gives an error message.

It works fine when you only have 1 domain listed in the database
but if you add more than one domain the array always list/compares
the first one.

For example…

if I have gmail.com and google.com listed as allowed domains then anyone using a gmail or google email address should be allowed to join. the way it works now is gmail can join but google gets the message the domain is not allowed.

Corporate Website With Cms

October 27th, 2009 Comments off

We need a website with a CMS for our company with a slick and modern design. Fully CSS driven, ajax, compatible with firefox, ie, etc. in other words: the stuff that separates the amateur from the professional work. Flash is allowed, but not required. Altough the use of PHP/Mysql is allowed, we have a strong preference for ASP.NET (Either VB or C#, that’s up to you) and SQLServer. The use of ASP.NET MVC is allowed. You can (re)use an existing framework if you like, as long as it works well and there are no additional licensing costs involved.

The graphical design has to be original, or in other words: template designs are NOT acceptable. The use of stock images is allowed except for those standard pictures of people “at work”. You know what I mean… There is an existing logo which has to be used (will be provided in jpg and png in any resolution required)

To have an idea of the visual elements to use: Our company deals mainly with environmental studies, works (reforestation for example) and supervision as well as civil engineering. We also develop geographical information systems to help streamlining our work. Keywords would be: Environmental, Studies, Supervision, GIS, Reforestation, Civil Engineering, Information Systems

It needs the following sections: Home, Projects, Team, About us, Client Area, Contact. Also has to have a possibility of creating new sections trough the CMS. The client area will show content specific to a group. There has to be the possibility of attributing a user to one or more groups. User and group administration includes the standard stuff (creation, updating, deleting and blocking). Remember that people only need to log in to see the Client Area, the rest is freely accesible.

The CMS has to allow editing of the content in both WYSIWYG and pure HTML.

A testserver is available. Your has to include the installation of the site, its CMS and configuration of the database.

All source files such as source code, PSD files, SQL scripts, etc. have to be delivered on payment.

For your bid to be accepted, either show some examples of your previous NON-TEMPLATE work or a mockup.

Final product has to be in Brazilian Portuguese (we will provide the translation) and has to have the possibility to be shown in other languages.

For further details please post on the PMB.

Test Toolbar – Beta Tester #3

October 6th, 2009 Comments off

We have an application ready for Beta testing. It is called “The Browser Buddy”.

We are seeking another Beta tester. We posted this same project earlier and selected two testers. We want to get a third Bet tester, so we’ve re-posted this project.

The Browser Buddy is a toolbar designed to work with either the Internet Explorer browser or the Firefox browser on PC’s, not MAC’s. Once installed, The Browser Buddy permits the User to define a list of allowed web sites. Once that list is defined then only those web sites on the allowed site list can be opened and seen in the browser.

This toolbar is designed to help parents with young children at home. It is also for use by small businesses that want to keep employees focused on business and customer related sites.

The first draft of the User Guide will be provided to interested bidders. We will update the User Guide based on the testing and review feedback.

Here’s the web site to get started: http://www.thebrowserbuddy.com/Main.php

Run the tests on both Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.

Test Plan:

1) After registering with your name and email can you download the toolbar application to your computer?

1a) Which browser did you use for this test?

1b) What is the operating system you used (XP, Vista, etc?)

2) Did the toolbar install correctly? Any problems?

3) Can you log-on to your user account easily?

3a) Could you set-up the allowed sites for your account?

4) When you type in a website address (URL) that is not in your allowed list does the blocked site page warning come up?

5) Can you open a site that is not on your allowed site list?

6) Does the password recover function work?

7) Can you turn the toolbar off? After turning the toolbar off is any site blocked?

8) Can you delete the toolbar?

9) After upgrading to Premium service does that status show when you log-on to your admin account?

9a) What Premium services did you see? Did they each work?

10) Does the list of allowed sites show up on the drop down menu from the toolbar?

11) Did the User Guide make sense? What parts were unclear?

12) Any errors in the User Guide? Where?

13) What parts of using this toolbar were hard?

14) What would you like to see improved or fixed to make this toolbar easier to use?

DELIVERABLE:
1. A document answering each question in the “Test Plan”. Bidder can bid to do the testing on one browser, or on both. Please specify clearly if it is for one browser type or both in your bid. If both browser types are bid, then a seperate report for each browser must be submitted. Cleary state which browser was used and the operating system (Windows XP, Vista, etc)

2. Payment will be made to bidder after receipt of a complete Test Report.

Now many of us Know of F-my Life and we know how fun it could be my website pretty much similar to it but instead of all those categories my site only bases on One Category Niche.

Now what I really like is the website of secrettalk.com how the lay out mine I want it to be the same however Green.

Basically a user is allowed to Post a story, and user are allowed to comment upon it.

Also readers are allowed to click a Twitter Button or Facebook button that is able for them to share it on those websites. Now on SecretTalk.com they only have it when you click the story they have this ADDTHIS button I do not want it to be like that. I want an option in the Front page of twitter and Facebook and when you click on story and can comment the buttons there as well.

You have to be a User to Submit stories and comments some sort of Captcha shall be nice to avoid spam or so.

Also The user that submits a story is able to Delete Comments in his or her story in case he or she does not like the comment someone made.

That is it for now this is long term project as we will be needing changes in the near future.

Thanks!

Marketing/customer Accounts

May 29th, 2009 Comments off

I am going to have an osCommerce site built through dropshippingwholesalers.com, however, they will only build be a basic site and referred me here for the custom work.

The way my website will work is the customer will open a customer account and be issued an 8 digit I.D. number. They will have the opportunity to earn 100% rebates on all their purchases on my site by helping me advertise and bringing in their own referrals. The customer will advertise my website name and how it works along with their I.D. number. this number will also act as a 10% discount for each new refferal account. When the referral enters the number, it will link the account to the advertisers account and the advertising customer will recieve 5% of each referrals total each time they shop but only until they have recieved a full rebate. The rebate will also be perpetual, so they can earn it all back each time they respend it. After they have built up $1,000 in rebate, anything over $1,000 will have the option of being transferred to the customer’s paypal account. Customers will be allowed up to 300 referrals. In addition to regular customer accounts, I will also offer agent accounts to those I choose to offer them to. Agent accounts will work the same way except agent accounts will be allowed unlimited referrals and will collect the 5% totals all the time without being limited to a rebate amount. They will also have the option of transfering all funds to their paypal account.

The accounts need to be visable on screen while the customer shops and include the following: It will need to automatically issue an 8 digit I.D. number, Show the amount of referrals the customer currently has, show the rebate amount due to the customer, the rebate amount earned so far, and the unearned rebate amount, which will be the 5% total over the amount due for refund. The site will also need to include a way for the customer to pay with rebate funds at checkout time. Agent accounts will look the same with the exception that the 5% will be a commision as well as showing a rebate amount for funds spent on site.

Both account types will need to have access to tranfering allowed funds to paypal.

In the future I will be offering more options on this site and will need more programming.

If there are any questions, I will try to answer them better than I have explained here. Thank you.

Joomla Comp Article Versioning

May 28th, 2009 Comments off

Name of the component: com_socialcontent
Introduction:
I need a wiki-like component that uses the Joomla content structure, plugins and editor.

1) Requirements
- Joomla 1.5
- separate component and or plugin (no hack of com_content please…)
- use of JCE editor previously installed on the site
- MVC
- use the existing content structure
- Jomsocial will be used to manage users. Any links to authors should go to jomsocial profile.
- if possible, use AJAX to make the component look and behave better in the front end

2) Database
- new table: #__social_content_version to store previous versions of articles
id, content_id, title, content, comment, author_id, date_created(date 0000-00-00 00-00-00), date_archived(date 0000-00-00 00-00-00), flagged(int)
- new table: #__social_content_sectionid to store allowed sections and categories

3) Front end access and limits
- Articles can be edited and created only in sections and categories specified by an administrator in the backend configuration tab of the component.
- Any registered user can create an article in those categories
- Any registered user can edit an article
- Any registered user can display a list of all versions for a particular article, display the article and select that previous version to become the new one
- If multiple users are editing the same article, the last one to save will have the current article, the other updates will be saved as versions. If multiple edits are happening at the same time, an alert should be displayed on the editor’s screen. No checkin/checkout.

4) Back end
- current articles will be managed as usual using Joomla’s article manager
- the component should allow us to view all the versions for all the articles, click on one to edit or unpublish (if unpublished, that version will not be visible in the front end) and make it the current article. The current article should then be saved as a version.
- a configuration to select allowed sections and categories

5) Front end Article creation
- should display allowed section, then AJAX allowed categories
- title
- content using JCE editor
- comment field allowing the author to comment
- author id (hidden)
- date (hidden)
- token (hidden)

6) Front end Article edition
- same form as above
- when saved, a copy of the current article will be saved in the version table then the changes will modify the article
- no checkin/checkout

7) Plugin displaying a list of the last 10 authors and link to versions
- A list of profile pictures linked to profiles (with names appearing when mouseover picture) will be displayed at the bottom of each article in the allowed sections.
- A link will take the user to a list of previous versions, let the user display any version in a different window, and select a version to become the current article (this will first save the article as a version)
- A link to flag that article. It will send an alert to administrator by email and add a flag in the database.

Go to www.dzsocial.com for an example of what I want. username demo, pwd demo123 if you click on “skydivepedia” you will have some categories and an example of a page
http://www.dzsocial.com/Skydiving-Gear/Gear/packing/packing-techniques_c97_m123.html . This site is not exactly what I want and full of hacks. Too messy. This is why I need a clean component instead.

Follow Gambler Site

May 23rd, 2009 Comments off

Follow concept

Background:
There’s tons of sports betting sites on the net – espcially in EU. It varies from top professional sites like Bet24, 888.com and bwin.com to minor amature sites. Some users are very good at beting on sport bets – some top gamblers actually out perform Bet24, 888.com etc. in the long run due their sport-insight. The philosophy of this site, is to allow ordinary players to “follow” these expert/top gamblers – enabling normal players to place the same bets as the top gamblers.

Measuring in “Units”:
Skill based betting on the internet is often meassured in “units”, instead of a fixed and absolute currency/value. Using “units” as measurements for the gamblers skill-level, ensures a good and realistic rating.

Introduction:
How the “follow gambler” concept should work….
The new user deposit an amount (from 10$ to 1000$) to a depot on the site. The user can then choose how much a “Unit” is (1$ to 100$). The user can choose to follow any other user (refered to as “gambler”). It is the gambler who decides how many units to be played (from 1 to 10).
Example: A gambler bets 3-units on away win for Man.C vs. Bolton – this will automatically have all his followers to bet 3 units – meaning that e.g. users having 5$ as the unit, will bet 15$ on away win for Man.C vs. Bolton.

Who are the “gamblers”?
The gamblers on the site are “pro gamblers”, meaning that ordinary users cannot become gamblers. This will ensure that only skillful
gamblers are being followed. Each gambler shall have a “blog”-like area, where basic informations about the gambler, stats, images etc can be put. Further more, comments to the bets made will be posted here, allowing other users to see why this bet is good.

Depot:
A simple page with a track history for all earnings/loss’s and who the user has followed.
The users should always be allowed re-deposit his money. A small fee (configurable) will be charged for this.

Requirements:
Betting strategy…
At the gamblers page, bets will be registrered – each game needs to be registered min. 2 days in advance. 1 day prior to the match begins, the followers are still allowed to abandon the specific bet.
After that period of time, the game is “locked” and the followers depots will be deduced with the correct unit amount. The bet can now be placed at the best betsite.
When the match is done, the Administrator will update the match with the actual result – after the result update, all followers will have their depots updated.

E-mail notifications:
When the gambler makes a bet, the followers should receive an email with an overview of the match (playing teams, odds, match time, gamblers-comments to the match, basic stats) – plus a visible option to “refuse to follow this match”. This will allow the followers to easily abandon the specific bet.
When a match is ended and the final result is ready, an email should be sent out to all the followers with the finial result + earnings/loss and total amount avivable in the users depot.

Roles at the site:
3 different user roles are defined:
1.) Gambler, the role that normal players are “following”.
2.) Player, the role that are following the gamblers – these are the “normal users”.
3.) Administrators, the role that actually makes the bet for all the users at the betting sites and update the results.

The Gambler login area:
Only Administrators will be allowed to create a new “Gambler” account.
In this area, the gamblers can choose what bets to make. Besides deciding what bets to make, the gambler can comment on the bets – these comments will be displayed as feeds at the frontpage.
All bets are made in units (1 to 10).
The gambler shall be allowed to upload profile images and update/edit his profile text at his login area.
Gamblers shall be able to see how much money they have earned/lost for their followers – their personal revenue will be dependent on this number (% of the revenue they have made for thier followers).

The Player (players are also refered to as “followers” ) login area:
This page is for all the “normal users” – the player can deposit/withdraw money to his depot, see all transactions, see stats (bets made, win/loss etc), change email/password etc.
Like in the email notification, it shall be possible to abandon a specific match if the timelimie is not exceeded (1 day prior to the game).

The Administration login area:
This is the page where the Administrator can see what bets to place for the gamblers and all its followers. The bets are being sum’ed up and the total amount to place for each bet, are shown on this page.
The Administrator page is also used for updating the finial result of the bets. The Administrators will be responsible for updating the correct results for all the bets.
The Administrators shall be allowed to add feeds to the frontpage – enabling them to do comments like the gamblers. This ensures the adminstrators to communicate with the players.
Simple stats like: “Todays revenue for the site”, “Todays revenue for the followers” etc. should be displayed at this Administrator login page.

The default area (not logged in):
- Front page: 1.) The front page will show what bets are in play today. 2.) A top-10 of all gamblers 2a.) What gamblers whom has most followers 3.) A general stat that teases like: “If you had deposit 100$ 3 months ago, and followed the 3 top gamblers, you would have 234$ by now!” 4.) Bet feeds from all the gambles (comments on the bets) 5.) Stats from the last 10 bets.
- Gambler page (when clicking on a gambler): 1.) A profile image is shown 2.) A profile description is shown 3.) A stat of all the bets made by the gambler. 4.) A stat of the last 10 bets made.
- Match page (when clicked on a match): Will show what gamblers are playing on that specific match. Besides showing what bets are being made for that match, comments(feeds) from the Gamblers should be shown here.

Revenue model for “gamblers”:
Gamblers will be legally forced to do the betting them self. Gamblers generating a positive revenue will be rewarded with a (configurable) x% in kick-back from its followers. Gamblers generating a negative revenue for its followers, will not generate any kick-back. The more followers, the more revenue can be earned for the Gamblers – this will truely encurage the Gamblers to promote a followship of thier bettings. This can eventually become a living for the very good betters.

Revenue model for the site:
Everytime a gambler makes a succesfully bet, and the followers makes money – a small (configurable) fee will be charged from the followers.

FAQ:
Q: Will normal players be able to create a profile?
A: No

Q: Can a player follow more than 1 gambler?
A: Yes

Follow Gambler Site

Follow concept

Background:
There’s tons of sports betting sites on the net – espcially in EU. It varies from top professional sites like Bet24, 888.com and bwin.com to minor amature sites. Some users are very good at beting on sport bets – some top gamblers actually out perform Bet24, 888.com etc. in the long run due their sport-insight. The philosophy of this site, is to allow ordinary players to “follow” these expert/top gambleres – enabling normal players to place the same bets and the top gamblers.

Measuring in “Units”:
Skill based betting on the internet is often meassured in “units”, instead of a fixed and absolute currency/value. Using “units” as measurements for the gamblers skill-level, ensures a good and realistic rating.

Introduction:
How the “follow gambler” should work….

1 day prior to the game, the followers are still allowed to abandon the specific bet.
After that period of time, the game is “locked” and the followers depots will be deduced with the correct unit amount. The bet can now be placed at the best betsite.
When the match is done, the Gambler can update the match with the actual result – all followers will have their depots updated if Gambler won the bet, otherwise no depot movements will be made.

E-mail notifications:
When the gambler makes a bet, the followers should receive an email with an overview of the match (playing teams, odds, match time, gamblers-comments to the match, basic stats) – plus a very visible option to “refuse to follow this match”. This allows the followers to easily abandon the specific bet.
When a match is ended and the final result is ready, an email should be sent out to all the followers with the finial result + earnings/loss and total amount avivable in the users depot.

Roles at the site:
3 different user roles are defined:
1.) Gambler, the role that normal players are “following”.
2.) Player, the role that are following the gamblers – these are the “normal users” with an account on the site.
3.) Administrators, the role that actually makes the bet for all the users at the betting sites.

The Gambler login area:
Only Administrators will be allowed to create new “Gambler” accounts.

The Player (players are also refered to as “followers” )login area:
This page is for all the “normal users” – the player can deposit/withdraw money to his depot, see all transactions, see stats (bets made, win/loss etc), change email/password etc.
Like in the email notification, it shall be possible to abandon a specific match if the timelimie is not exceeded in the Player login area. (1 day prior to the game)

This ensures that adminstrators can communicate with the players.

Gamblers generating negative revenue for its followers, will not generate any kick-back. The more followers, the more revenue can be earned for the Gamblers – this will truely encurage the Gamblers to promote a followship of thier bettings. This can eventually become a living for the very good betters.

Revenue model for the site:
Everytime the gambler makes a succesfully bet, and the followers makes money – a small (configurable) fee will be charged from the followers.
