Squirrel Desktop Pet

September 27th, 2011 Comments off

Yes, that’s right – you read correctly. I want a pet squirrel.

No, I don’t want a real squirrel… I want a squirrel that I can install on my Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP desktop and laptop computers.

The squirrel should be cartoon-ish, but should definitely resemble a real squirrel as well.

The squirrel should be fully animated (walking around, eating nuts/acorns, falling asleep on the top of windows or on the start bar, occasionally following the mouse pointer around the screen, and anything else awesome that you can think of for my pet squirrel to do).

My squirrel should have a very small tree that sits on my screen (should be movable to anywhere on the screen) which will be the “home” for my squirrel. The squirrel will also sleep on top of the tree, and will hoard nuts, if I give him too many at once.

Oh, yes, that’s right – I can give my squirrel food, water, or pet him/her. He/she reacts accordingly (eating the first 5 nuts, then beginning to hoard them in the tree, or drinking the water, or purring when I pet him/her).

Essentially, I just want my pet squirrel to be happy. My pet squirrel should have an autoinstaller, and should be distributed as a .EXE file. I should be given the option upon installing to make my squirrel appear on boot.

All controls should be placed in a start-bar toolbar menu (with a small squirrel icon) which, when clicked on, displays the menu of everything I can do with my squirrel.

If this description isn’t enough, please feel free to ask me questions. I hope that someone takes this project and builds on it, as I would love to have a pet squirrel that can do things that I didn’t come up with.

Yes, I am dead serious. Thank you for considering my project.

Fullscreen Games Capture

September 18th, 2011 Comments off

I’ve a quite simple program that works as a anti-cheat software to my gaming platform, coded in c# language.
It already takes screenshots and upload them to our server, however we have a problem that we need a solution for, and thats your job.

On some Windows Operative Systems (as far as I know: Windows Vista/7 With Hardware acceleration activated), when you try to take screenshots inside the counter-strike 1.6 game in opengl/full screen mod, the screenshot appears all black.

What I need from you is a solution that make it capable of take screenshot inside Counter-strike 1.6 game (Software/D3D/OpenGL) without that black screens problem.
It should be a fast process, to avoid problems for the players using the software when playing.

According to some friends, a possible solution to the problem is :
Write a C++ dll that is able to grab a screenshot of an opengl application and inject this dll into a opengl game (in that case, counter-strike 1.6 steam based) in full screen. Then integrate it on the C# program, and call the DLL. I believe that WglSwapBuffers is also a solution.

You’re the coder, please try to understand the problem and tell me the best solution for it.

I am able to run any test that you might need during the development.
I appreciate if you keep me updated during the time of this work, aswell as have a test version to make sure it works as should.

Since I’ve no coding experience, I’ll need that you integrate it on my current c# sofware, compile and make it able to distribute.

News Search And Collation Tool

September 8th, 2011 Comments off

Software is required to search for business-related news items in batches of 10 or 20 items. The search could be based on standard terms such as business services, accounting, management, etc, then providing the user with a box to enter the specific subject, which would be a niche within that category, or could be searched directly in a search box.

The software would need to find the batch of new news items, and show them to the user as the header and about the first 50-100 words of each article, plus the url of where the article was found. The user would then be given the option of accepting or rejecting the item. The user would then select the accepted items which would be loaded into the web page. Also, there needs to be the option to add a comment on the news of from 50-300 words.

The resulting text, etc, should be compatible with WordPress, with the selected items being entered by the user in a wordpress post, and then comment added if desired in another post. (The actual website is not part of the project).

The users will not be experienced in working on computers, so the searched articles need to come up in a WordPress blog, as mentioned. However, the interface needs to be user friendly. The software, once set up with the password, etc, would need to go into the blog where the articles could be posted, and extra text added. Or the extra text could be added before being transferred to the WordPress page.

The tool needs to be able to search the internet for articles on the chosen subject.

These articles would need to be ‘news’, not old articles, but articles published in the past week. Then, when the article was found the tool would need to select the header (title) of the article plus the first 100-150 words plus the link to the full article. The articles would be placed in a window in the user interface.

The user would then approve or dismiss the articles. He would take the selected articles and enter them, as a file in a WordPress blog attached to his site. There, he would have the option of writing an article to accompany these articles, which would all be saved on the website. Ideally, the page could be dragged and dropped into WordPress, or could be actually a WordPress blog.

It should run on a PC (Vista upwards) or could be on a Linux server, with an web interface if there were advantages.

As it is difficult to choose the best bidder for a project of this type, I may ask SELECTED bidders to bid for a part of the project, and then pay them for that. As this will be part of the actual project, whatever the successful bidder is paid for that mini-project, will be part of the total fee. (In other words, if you bid a total of $700, and $100 for the part of the project, you will be paid $100, and then $600 at the end of the project.

Custom Remote Control Driver

September 7th, 2011 Comments off

My company uses the Streamzap infra-red remote control to control a computer program that we created. The remote control is the primary input device for this program.

The Streamzap remote we use has been sligntly modified from the standard Streamzap remote (ours has fewer buttons). Picture attached.

I need a driver created for this remote to simply send keystroke signals to the PC. Our current driver frequently crashes/freezes/shuts down…this occurs most often when a user is clicking back and forth between open applications. Currently, our remote will only work if our software is the active window.

Note: our software was created with Flash (published as a projector file), and then compiled to an executable using Flash Jugglor.

It would be best if this remote could control our software at all times (not just when our software is the active window). If this is not possible, then we would like the remote to send “global actions” to the PC. Ultimately, we are just trying to get around the problem of the current driver freezing.

We need this to work on Windows XP, Vista, and 7 (32 and 64 bit systems). If you need to create different drivers for each, that is fine too.

P2p Monitor Program

September 1st, 2011 Comments off

The purpose of the program…

1. This program MUST work on Windows XP, Vista and 7

2. The program should be able to monitor a single PC’s network traffic in real-time for p2p traffic taking place at any given time. If p2p traffic has been encountered then the program should popup a message on the bottom right and corner of the windows task bar.

Not to sure what platform to use, so what ever would be easiest and compatible with Windows XP, Vista and 7.
Preferred though would be C Sharp or Visual Basic.

Technology/new Media Articles

August 15th, 2011 Comments off

Please read before bidding,it’ll make things easier for everyone.

I’m looking for a set of articles to be written around current events.
The focus will be on Technology and Tech related companies/start ups.
Google,Microsoft,Yahoo,Adobe,Apple,Mobile OS market news (android, windows mobile, iphone). Desktop OSs, Windows (xp,vista,7 and 8),linux (ubuntu, centos, solaris). trends such as NoSQL (Memcache,Cassandra,Riak), existing techs such as Oracle,MySQL,MS SQL
Social network news related to Facebook,Twitter and MySpace are also in the mix. This basically requires being up to date with what’s happening within the industry. Even things such as reviews for new apps that you think are cool. I’m basically trying to not impose many limitations on what you can write, as long as it is current and focused on main headliners it should be fine. If there is ever topic you want to write about but are unsure just a quick mail to me and I’ll clarify.

The content is for a website like Mashable to give you a better idea.

I will prefer if I didn’t have to give you specific topics and you can simple write about the things you know are happening now or things you have been tipped off that may/will happen.

Content with pictures are highly needed, for example if you’re writing an article about Google+, even if its as simple as taking a screenshot of the G+ homepage and cropping it, I need pictures to make the content more appealing. Anything that contains statistics from Neilson or other reputable companies are most welcomed.

What exactly is needed?
I am sticking to a budget of $100 per month.
Over the one month I need an offer from you of how many articles will be delivered for that amount.
In addition, articles need to be fairly evenly spaced out over the month. If for example you offer to write 20 articles, if there are 30 days in the month then I don’t want an article on the first then another on the fifth, they need to be regular… There is nothing to stop you seeing what big news stories are featured on mashable, hacker news or wired and then researching to write about that topic. In fact it’d be a good idea to do so and if you can get any content before they are able that’d be beyond awesome!

You are allowed to have a author biography at the end of each article with up to two links (can be affiliate links as long as they don’t point to anything illegal etc)

Once I’ve chosen a bidder we can communicate and I will provide you with details of how to log in on the site, it uses wordpress so if your familiar with wordpress it’ll be even easier to get going.

Visual Basic Programmer Needed

August 5th, 2011 Comments off

I have a couple of simple software programs that run on the Windows operating system. They both currently work on Windows XP/Vista/7.

I have the programs in both .exe format and in full source code format with separate files and folders.

The files for the most part, are editable with any plain text editor.

I need someone to show me how to compile the source code and what software I need to use to get the job done. For example, do I need to use Visual Studio or what.

Document the steps in plain terms in a PDF or Word document. If possible, a video of how to do this would be great, with you talking me through the process.

If necessary, I can provide screenshots of the source code documents that I need to compile/ recompile.

Torrent Auto Uploader – Btit

July 19th, 2011 Comments off

The script should do the fowling:

1 – scan remote dir for new releases (every release is in its own folder)
2 – if find new release to get the info for the video file inside (all releases are video files in mkv format) and later to use the part of the video info for the torrent description. The video information can be extracted using many ways i guess.
3 – depending on the name of the folder to search in IMDB for poster and description (all releases will be movies or serials)
4 – create a torrent file – upload it to tracker and start seeding.
- The description should be mix of IMDB info and part of the Video info (that the script should extract in step 2), for the poster filed should be used poster from IMDB

The script should upload on BTIT torrent tracker
and work on win vista/7 32/64

The scrpt should have the fowling options:
- Set how frequently the script should check the remote dir for new releases
- set the uploader and tracker details
- set the remote dir (shold work also with subforlders) for example my releases will be located in (E:downloadstvepstoday) on my local machine

I think that’s all for now :)

Windows App In C-sharp

July 15th, 2011 Comments off

I would like to have an autotext app in C-sharp similar to this one:
http://www.autotext-software.com/

The same but mine has to be a desktop app to work on XP, Vista and W7. Complete with installer. My program will not be free. It will be sold for a small amount. The customer has to order it fom my website and pay for it. When the payment is approved, I would like to send a registration key. I want the app to check over the internet if the registration key is valid every time it is used.

So what I need is:
- an order form on the internet: this is just something basic, something I can easily integrate into an existing website
- a MySQL database to keep track of customers
- a payment gateway like Paypal or Moneybookers
- a registration key sent by email if the payment is OK: customer has to unlock the app with his email and registration key
- the app itself written in C# with installer and checking for a valid registration key
- the app has to check the email address, registration key and MAC address so that it can only be used on 1 computer
- if the customer wants a refund, the app should stop working, if possible?

The interface should look like this:

I would like 3 menu tabs: File, Tools, Help:

- File:
Add autotext
Add category
Exit

- Tools
Unlock demo
Options (if required?)

- Help
Autotext Help (just a simple text file)
About Autotext (just a simple text file)

Bulk Dmoz Listing Checker

June 24th, 2011 Comments off

My OS is Windows 7 64-bit, however I would like this software to work on Windows 7, Windows Vista & Windows XP if possible.

I need a simple software that checks a list of URLs for listing in the dmoz.org’s index.

Here is how you check to see if a website is listed in the dmoz.org index.

You navigate to this URL:

http://www.dmoz.org/search?q={insert domain name here}

Example of a domain that IS listed in the dmoz.org index:

http://www.dmoz.org/search?q=dnsboss.com
For the above URL that is listed, when you arrive at that URL, you’ll notice if you view the source code, that dnsboss.com is inside of an href attribute…in other words, there is a live clickable link on that page that leads to dnsboss.com. The live link appears as http://www.dnsboss.com even though the URL you’ve visited to check doesn’t have the “www” in front of dnsboss.com. Some will have the “www” and some won’t have the “www” in the live link.

Example of a domain that is NOT listed in the dmoz.org index:

http://www.dmoz.org/search?q=thisweekendsmovies.com
You’ll notice that when you arrive at that URL, nothing is present.

The software should two input boxes with vertical scroll boxes in the UI.

One should be for proxies, and the other should be for inputting a list of URLs.

The box with the proxies should accept proxies in this format:

ip address:port
ip address:port
ip address:port
etc
etc
etc

The box with the list of URLs should accept URLs in this format
somesite.com
somesite.org
somesite.net
etc
etc
etc

The software should then begin checking if each URL in the input list is present in the dmoz.org index using the method indicated above. It should use a new proxy for each URL it is checking, going through the whole list of proxies. Once it reaches the last proxy in the list, it should then start over at the top of the list of proxies, and continue in that fashion

The last box in the UI should be the “results” box, which should list the results of whether or not the URL is present in the dmoz index. It should list the results in this format (vertically):

Input URL | Listed in Dmoz
someurl.com | Y
anotherurl.com | N
etc
etc
etc

Picture Crawler And Excel File Creator

June 24th, 2011 Comments off

Hi guys n gals,

I am in the need for an application that can run on Windows Vista (and others if possible)

What will it do?

1. I will run the program
2. It will go through a defined folder and all its sub folders
3. It will GRAB all the META DATA from the images in those folders
4. And then create an excel file. The headings of the columns will then obviously be the name of the fields ….

User should be allowed to define the folder where excel files will be stored and maybe name them after date_time.extention

Note : Play with the images included, they have meta tags.. And please remember, the program has to be very robust since in some folders I might have a thousand images.. so don’t create something that crashes pls :) Or atleast stay handy so you can adjust it.

Please only bid if you can create this, show an example if you can since it’s such a tiny program . the first one to manage this gets the bid amount..

This project will involve the creation of a program that will allow users with an Administrative account to schedule a time frame to disable all network adapters. The program will also allow the creation of a standard user account.

The goal is to allow students to use computers for assignments or tests while restricting Internet access.

We are soliciting quotes for the development of this project for installation on MS Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, and Windows 7.

Please review the attached Documentation and let me know if there are any additional questions.
