Configure DNS on host so when user types their own domain in web browser, they see a subdomain on my server. Subdomain is set as a wildcard in DNS already, and routes to a php script which captures the subdomain name, and looks up the matching content from a mysql database.

Note: We have already tried:
CNAME, A record

I have my domain parked with Namecheap and the A record and MX record pointing to a VPS. Every other site on this VPS is working with the same setup. But one site is not working. I’m stumped. I’ve waited over 2 days, thinking maybe it’s taking time to resolve.

First issue is that the menu does not behave as it should, when you hover over menu items the menu appears then disappears – i think it is a CSS issue or a clash with a style sheet from another plugin but i’ve no idea how to fix it and don’t have the time to go through the plugins to find the clash. Try it out on the link above and you’ll see what i mean.

Second issue is that custom fields no longer save – again i think this must be a clash with a plugin but i’ve no idea which one or why it is happening.

Third issue is with domains – i have two domain names that i want to use with the site but i’ve no idea how to configure them for use with the site. I believe I need to configure the DNS entry to make this work but again i’ve no idea how to fix this so you’ll need to be competent in doing that too.

Fourth issue, the site has been setup using MediaTemple temporary domain service. When you access the links they reference the temporary domain service so all these links will need to be updated

I absolutely cannot afford to lose any information on this site through a crash or so please be sure that you know what you are doing or can do a backup before you bid!

I have one website got blacklisted by spamhaus.

I saw competitors do not have problems keeping up their domains even if they are listed.

I noticed they use DNSPARK.COM as nameserver.

So I need to do the same. I need someone who know about DNS, redirects and other stuff.

We have a setup consisting of a whmcs hosting solution and Plesk 9.5 based servers. So far we have been using opensrs for registering domains and hosting dns. Unfortunatly it turns out they do not offer hosting of domains not registered with them.

Therefor we wish to have our current setup extended with our own dns servers.

What we need is someone to setup and configure the following and describe how it was done, and how it can be repeated for new servers.

1) Setup two dns servers working as slave servers on vps’es. Linux distribution will be debian or centos.
2) Setup plesk on one of our servers to work as a hidden master dns server, which will automatically copy dns records to the slave servers.
3) Guide us on how to have the proper dns records setup for our domains to have our own nameservers. That is ns.ourdomain.com, ns1.outdomain.com etc.

Its important that its fully automated, so that adding a new domain to Plesk will automatically setup the replication to the slave dns servers, without having to manually adding the domains to the dns slaves.

If you have a suggestion for a dns hosting provider which provides the same options instead of having our own dns servers, then that is fine too.

2- Get the ip of somebodyelsesdomain.com that is hosted with hostgator and has a reseller account. NOTICE! We dont need the user or pass anything like that just the domain.
3- Once you get the ip 74.53.XXX.XXX should be something like that. Set your subdomain or domain to have that ip. billing.mydom.com -> 74.53.XXX.XXX
4- make sure it pings to that ip address. try it, go to start -> type: cmd and type ping billing.mydom.com and make sure you get the ip you just set.
5- Now, go to http://www.whmcs.com/hostgator/index.php this address is going to ask you for the domain you need the license for. enter the domain billing.mydom.com
“Your domain has passed the eligibility check and so you can claim your free license by clicking on the button below.”
6- you will be able to set up a free account with hostgator. Make sure not to get the license yet!!!
7- switch the dns back to your own hosting,
8- login to whmcs.com and get the license with your free account
9- get the script from whmcs.com Description: Smiley
10- install it and enter your very own valid license key.

I have recently bought a new server. But unfortunately my server came with no setup of apache, php, bind, mysql and with no control panel. However i try to get installation of all the above. And now i need setup of domain to point to this server. I have already dumped my database and copied all the files in /var/www/html file.

I tried to follow this guide.

DKIM, SPF and reverse DNS is installed but not properly configured. Our Emails
