This is a PHP program that will be integrated into an existing website. We currently run on a dedicated server using PHP 5.3 and MySQL 5.

Another words, if they decide they are going to upload a 8 x 10, they will select that option, and if they upload an image that smaller than the choice selected, the script will prevent them from uploading the smaller image.
They will need to be able to select from several choices like

And so on,

We would the user experience to be similar to the following:
Step One: Similar to the experience on www.secondlife.com the new user would click onto our new site and be able to choose from several fairly generic avatars. They will be broken into six main categories based on the type of employment in our particular industry. For now the avatars need only show these basic classifications, later we will want to add additional elements.
Step Two: After choosing an avatar, just like secondlife.com the user will be directed to the same clean interface to register for a free account. Based on which avatar they have chosen, some of the fields will auto complete and they will be directed to a semi-customized profile (i.e., the student will have a slightly different home page from the trainer and so on.)
Step Three: After they check into the site they can set up their new account. We want to make it as simple and fun as possible for them to upload a photo, answer some basic questions (any of which they should have the option to skip), some preferences (ie which apps they would like to appear on their dashboard), and to import their email into our email processor.
