Produce a command-line tool (batfile or exe) that takes one (or two) args, FROM (and TO), and opens Word (2007 or later), opens a .DOCX file named FROM, then saves that file as a .DOC file named TO, if supplied, otherwise with the same pathname as FROM but with the .DOC extension. I have a wordpress theme that i purchased and have discovered that it is not very SEO friendly. I have it on a number of existing sites and would have to keep it. Therefore I would like you to review the code and make alterations to make it more SEO friendly in terms of load time, header tags e.t.c

There are some specific problems i have found that I haven’t been able to fix:

1) The theme does not allow any SEO plugins like all in one seo or platinum seo to work. When activated it causes all pages to have the same title tag as the home page. I originally thought it was because there was no call for wp_head() in the header tag. I had that inserted but it did not fix the problem. At the moment i can only control the title tag by the string given in the header which isn’t good enough.

2) Google Analytics plugin – I have used this plugin but it is not inserting the code into the theme. I also tried to put a mod in the functions.php but this failed. I need it to use a google analytics plugin.

There are some other things i have solved my self but there may be better ways of doing it:

There was no H1 showing on the home page so i inserted a hidden one behind the banner.

There was no H1 on the inner pages and posts so i changed the template code for the h2 to become h1.

So to recap:

1) You MUST BE 100% Confident you can solve the above two main problems.

2) You should be able to look at the code and make recommendations of further improvements to enhance the SEO capabilities for speed and text e.t.c

Please do not waste my time and yours if you only think you might be able to do the job. I have had my time wasted on this previously.

There are three sections to the project: SEO Development, In-line link component and Google Goals.

Currently the database driven Joomla! website uses the index.php file to generate further pages to show various jobs categorized by different sectors. Due to this structure they share the same Title tags etc. The job category pages need their own title tags, H1′s and P tags for SEO purposes. These tags will need to be updated by myself in future(limited knowledge of Joomla / articles etc).

In-line dynamic hyperlinks: The homepage of this site has body / anchor links to the job sectors. They show how many jobs there are in each section for example ‘finance jobs (4)’. This needs converting into a Joomla friendly component so myself or the client can update the link names when the categories change.

Goals / Google analytics: We need an additional page to track job applications in Google Analytics. A simple ‘thank you’ page needs adding to the application process to track successful applications. Note: There are many pages that may have the same or close to the same meta tags as there are many products within a category and 20 products per page. For example, there may be a page for LED Christmas lights where you would use the keywords above. Another page may have “LED Christmas, 100 light set” where this page would share many of the same words within the title, description and keyword tags but include others to include the “100 light set”.

2. Part of this may require manually looking up keywords in Google Adwords Keyword Tools and manually editing the meta tags. If a script can be written to do this, that would be great, too.
