Website Banner

I am an academic, currently building a website for my research. I need a graphic to act as the banner for my site. As I am an art historian, and the website focuses upon a single artist, I would prefer that the banner image be colorful and, in some way, sample some of this artist’s works.
Because the rest of the site is clean and simple, I would like the banner to be elegant, but have some flair.
