I have 3 Oscommerce websites that have a couple of small errors.
also gif needs changing and a couple of addons put on

Errors include

Shopping Cart – same eror on 2 sites, unable to load more than 1 item in cart sometimes. So error happens sometimes other times it does not.

Also one of the sites is members access only, but you can enter the site through urls that are associated with the site. I do have a members entrance which works, but if given another url, that is part of the site, people can enter.

also admin login needs to be added.

Customer enters the number of rolls of a certain product required and the delivery postcode then click Submit for an instant online quotation on the product including delivery costs.

The number of roll is based on square meter. For eg: 1 roll = 1 square meter.

The shipping cost is calculated based on the postcode and the amount ordered.

We need the calculator to be used on certain products as the site contains other products that do not require this calculation. For this, we have integrated product tabs contribution (http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2610) So the code you will generate can be inserted into one of the tabs making the calculation product independant. The Business logic is as follows:

1- Customer enters amount needed (in square meters) and the postcode
2- System converts amount into pallets (1 pallet is 50square meters)
3- System calculates price(Based on pallets and postcode)
4- once the price is calculated, the system needs to update product price on product_info.php file for that product.

The postcodes are in the following format. Full list will be provided on request:
B, CV, DY, GL, HR, KA, LL, PA, PE, PH, SN, SY, WR

When customer enters full postcode, for eg, WR1 1HT the system needs to calculate the cost based on WR area from the list above.

I will provide the prices per postcode and pallets later. Maybe you will need an excel file to pull out the price and postcode information from when doing the calculations.

We are looking to create an ecommerce site using Magento. The site will contain about 1500-2000 products related to hardware tools.

The design will be provided by us, but would like to liase with developer to see which elements can be styled and designed (i.e. icons, boxes etc)

The key features that we would like using magento are:
1) very good search and compare facility
2) Easy reporting for sales, VAT, refunds, stock control etc
3) related items, product upselling
4)special promotion, clearance stores
5) powerful tax system that allows for international users

There are two main features we require that magento doesn’t provide off-the-shelf:

1) the products we sell are going to be dispatched by our suppliers, not us, even though customer will buy from our site. Each time a product is bought, the supplier of that product needs to be sent an email, which includes product details, customer details, and a packing slip, but not the customers email address. From the customers point of view, the product has come through us.

For the admin, we want to have an extra field for each product that lets us select the supplier of that product from a dropdown menu. This is the supplier which will then get an email once that particular project has been bought. It should be simple to change the supplier if we buy the product from another supplier.

This extension had been suggested http://www.magentocommerce.com/extension/2243/magento-embedded-erp but it doesn’t seem to carry out the requirements

2) Linking Magento to Sage. Here is an extension that seems to do it: http://www.holbi.co.uk/modules-for-oscommerce/product/item/magento-connector-for-sage-line-50/. If you can provide a cheaper alternative, we will consider it.

3) We have a partner company. If the user searches for an item and can’t find it on our site, we would like a pop-up or a message in the content area that links to our partner company.

We have some questions regarding Magento, that we would like the developer to answer.

1) Magento is open source, what is the likelihood that support for this will run out in future?
2) if the developer customises Magento in the way described above, will future upgrades of the software still work fine?
3) Are you able to create bespoke reports that are not provided?
4) Can we change what attributes we sort the products by? (i.e. the default values are price etc, can we sort by voltage as well, for example)
5) With the newsletter can it create different groups automatically? – i.e. top ten spenders on our site? Or does this have to be done manually
6) Price: Can we set price as a % of cost? i.e. Price for a brand of goods should be 20% higher than the cost?

I have a magento store which has custom code written and modules installed. The site is working fine but the front end is running slow.

Category view page on average tasks 5 seconds
product view page on average takes 10 seconds can be upto 17 in IE7.

The server is fast so the problem is related to the custom code or magento code.

Normal CMS pages, adding to cart, checkout is ok but still slightly slow.

I need around 50% increase in speed so the code will need to be updated to make things run quickly.

This is a technical task. Do not bid if you are not skilled in Magento with custom core code changes!

I have a magento site with some custom code written.

On the product page I have a series of tabs displaying a bundle product. Each bundle category within the bundle product has a link next to it which opens an ajax popup and pulls the product photo, name, description from the database. This works fine.

I need some changes made to this code.

I have several xhtml webpages designed and now I’m looking to integrate them into a CMS.

The homepage is the only unique page in that it has the following sections that need to be editable:
- Introduction text
- Testimonials (need a section where we can add text, link text, url)
- useful links section
- possibly change navigation links on menu bar

We’d need to use the CMS in the subpages to:
- add new pages and arrange pages in tree structure
- use WYSIWYG box to add text
- add photos (stored in central image folder?)
- add photo/text combinations
- add documents (documents stored in central place so that if a link appears on several pages, if it is updated the link updates on all pages)
- possibly add small forms/survey
- possibly add/choose sub level navigation on page

On our Magento onepage Checkout we are getting a undefined pop-up error when the customer clicks on the button ‘Place Order’ a pop box appers with ‘Undefined’. This also happens when a product is removed from the cart using the ‘Remove’ icon, but the undefined error is not a pop it occurs within the page.
The ‘Undefined’ pop up on the checkout page doesnt happen all the time, but on continous testing it occurs. We are using Magento ver. 1.3.2.3 and have the AjaxCart pro installed.
Should be a simple fix for a good programmer.
