Penny Auction Timer Issues
I am looking for someone to fix an issue I am having with my penny auction site. I purchased a script from phppennyauction.com (telebidscript) and had it running but started having troubles with the auctions freezing at 1 second. I was told it was probably my webhosting that was too slow so I purchased faster webhosting and had the site moved. The freezing problem was still there, so I had a programmer from this site help me out. The auctions are no longer freezing at one second, but the timer is now skipping the number 1. In other words, it goes 5 -> 4 -> 3 -> 2 -> Ended. When the auction ends it is supposed to be listed in a “closed auctions” page. The auction is never getting listed there. When the auction ends, it is also supposed to send out an email to the winner and the admin, however this also isn’t happening. I was told by the programmer I hired that is was an issue with the cron job because my webhosting is through GoDaddy. The cron job needs to run every minute, but GoDaddy doesn’t allow cron jobs to run that frequently. But somehow the programmer that originally set it up for me (using ssh) had it working.
The site has been down for a month with these issues so obviously I would like it fixed asap! The programmer who accepts this project should have knowledge of CakePHP and ioncube.
