Animated Text For Presentation

Hey there,
very easy job if you know how to do it:
I need someone to show me how to make presentations like the one in this video:

in particular, I’m after HOW TO do those transitions (see on the page which ones in particular I’m after).
my guess is that the presentation (not mine) was recorded using camtasia, so any tool (preferably free/opensource, I’ve got openoffice installed) that can do that kind of presentation would be great. I don’t have MS Powerpoint and don’t want to get it either.
