Compare The Prices
I want a website that interrogates other websites to compare prices for a specific type of item (selectable by both drop down boxes and general search box). There are currently around 10 websites that need to be searched, but I’d like the capacity to increase this whenever other sites come online offering the same thing.
The site should be able to automatically interact with these pre-defined target websites to return both an image and a price. I think that the sites to be interrogated must link to a database. Whether this is linked into, or simply a script runs on the various target websites is for you to decide. The prices will change on a regular basis,and I need this to be reflected when a user of my site searches for the product. There are currently about 850 individual products that could be searched for, and this will increase gradually over time.
This isn’t a site for people to purchase items, but actually to sell their specific item. The various target sites are buyers of these items, and I want my site to compare the price offered by all of these target sites on a real time basis.
The aesthetics of the site is very important. It has to be visually appealing in order for users to like it.
The site will generate revenue from being an affiliate site to the sites it links to. i need these to be built into the design so that when users find the best price, they can select a link and go directly to the end website where they can complete the sale, registering my referral. This will have to be built into the site, and also updateable by me. I am an amateur user, so this would probably best be served by a control panel.
It would also be useful for this site to be optimised for google searching.
