Which Antivirus To Choose

Hello Antivirus Experts!
I am using Windows XP prof. system, its fully updated with all the recent windows update of microsoft.I have installed AVG 8.5 with all its updates.
The problem is : On task bar there are no Quick Link area. I tried from properties of task bar, but nothing happends.
I uninstalled the AVG and installed Nortal 2010, but it searched the many spywares, virus and etc..
But When i restart my system and saw the quick link option again its not working same as previous one.
Please give me the solution. I want expert to fix this problem.
