Jmla/vmart Search Problems
We need a Joomla/Virtuemart expert to help us fix recurring problems with the search results on a site. We had a previous vendor assisting and they are just not responsive enough. The result is that this is very urgent.
The site is http://www.netdigitalonline.com/
The issue is that the KEYWORD SEARCH is supposed to search the ENTIRE SITE (including VirtueMart) for items. That means it show the results that the PART NUMBER search returns PLUS any other items. What’s happening, however, is that it’s returning a variety of results.
To test, please do a search for the following items:
IP501
IP 501 (notice the space)
IP-501
If you do it in the part number search it is fine. If you do it in the Keyword Search the results Vary. You will notice that the search for the IP-501 will send you offsite to a subdomain. This is intentional as the searches are configured to look for the item on the main site and if NO RESULTS are found, it’s supposed to go to BROKER BIN (http://search.netdigitalonline.com/) instead.
This is a live site so the project will involve replicating the site to a location where we can test and when satisfied; we can move it over to the LIVE site.
I have a limited budget on this but a bunch of Joomla/Virtuemart work coming up that can be done at a better rate. Please show us VirtueMart work you’ve done in the past. CSS experts will be preferred candidates.
