Design For Newspaper Website

October 14th, 2009

You are bidding on the design of the overall look of a website including logos.

This should be pretty easy and straightforward. Your imagination is required for the conception of this image. The whole design is to be loosely based on http://www.publico.pt, not really a clone but this is an inspiration. It’s pretty much what we would like and it has the kind of image which we’re looking for. So if you can do it, it’s yours.

The website is a local news website. Please send Private Message for the newspaper name because I will not reveal it on the boards as it is not the time for it to get out there.

What is expected of you:
1. Logo for the website including full name of the newspaper (suggested proportions: 8:1)
2. Logo for the website without full name, but recognizable logo (suggested proportions: 1:1)
3. 2 HTML pages, one for a home page and other for a news page
4. All elements of design relating to the pages

(The suggested proportions are there just to give a guideline. If your overall design doesn’t fit these standards but looks good all the same, go for it)

The images should be delivered at several resolutions. They should look good on 800×600, though it should not be the preferred resolution.

The proposition will be evaluated based on design examples sent by you, so this is a feedback-based process, which will probably require more than one submission. So, if you are able to provide more than one design, it should work in your favor. If you can show us a portfolio, it would also work in your favor.

We will try and make this process very short.
