Joomla Datafeed Ecomm Store
This is an e-commerce site that sells DVDs.
This project is divided into two parts:
1) First, I need you to design a webstore using Joomla and Virtuemart. The store should be clean and professional looking, using current CSS web standards ( 960px fixed width, no tables, clean code, WC3 compliant). Each page should have both top and left navi and the navigation should be done using CSS, not flash. The home page should be three columns (left navi, center column, featured products), categories and product pages should be two (left navi, main column). Any columns that display multiple products should display three per row and should have additional pagination past 15 products. We have a logo and the colors should compliment it, but otherwise colors and fonts are up to you. We would prefer a white based site rather than black or some dark color. Each product should have fields for basic DVD data (like UPC, length, genre, actors, synopsis, year released, awards, etc).
2) Second, the store’s product list would need to be connected to our distributor on the back end. The data will be provided in either a CSV type file or via XML. Each Night the store should automatically connect to the distributor and pull the information about products and then insert it into the inventory. I will provide the documentation and a sample file to you when you reach this phase of the project. This part will need to be done in a professional manner (clean code, well commented, and efficient).
