Fix Apache (defunct) Problem

Urgently looking for an linux-administrator to fix an issue on one of my servers.
Some of the httpd processes get an DEFUNCT. So some of the people who are visiting the website dont receive a connection. It seems to be completly reandomley, because just one php page is served.
I also tried to compile new Apache versions… 1.xx and also pre-compiled Debian Apache2 packages. Everywhere the same problem, so the core of the problems seems to be somewhere else.
I urgently neeed an system admin who is checking the server and find the problem. You should be able to start today on working on this issue!
