Document Management Website
We need PHP or Java and MySQL programming for a site similar to docstock.com or scribt.com, with some unique commenting and user rating features. Users will be able to upload text, pdf, and .doc documents, organize them within subject matter areas, and highlight and comment on parts of each document. Comments must “float” next to parts of the document, tied to particular parts, such that they move with the document as it is scrolled. Comments will be rankable by users, and users will be ranked by their contributions, as well as have profiles that describe their interests, groups, projects and friends, as in most social media websites.
An internal site search engine will also be part of the project. The OCR text of each document needs to be automatically indexed for the search engine as users upload documents. Various fields will be entered by users, such as date, document name, etc., will be entered by users to facilitate advanced searching.
