Upgrade Cubecart V3.0.17

I have a Cubecart ecommerce site running v 3.0.17 which isn’t the latest version.
It now won’t automatically update when paypal payments are made so I have to manually check when people pay then change the status myself which is time consuming and a pain when customers use e-cheques.
It needs to be updated to the latest version, with paypal running correctly and all mods working as they do now.
According to the cubecart forums this isn’t a huge task, but requires a little more technical knowledge than I have.
