Mod Rewrite – Wildcard Dns

Wanting a mod_rewrite writing with wildcard DNS (not currently enabled to the best of my knowledge).
From this page (perl) – http://www.schools.ac/cgi-bin/navlink.cgi?linkid=27 pages should open as countryname.international.schools.ac rather than the current long URL.
