I have a CSV import file (import.php, attached) that was used to import data into my existing mysql database. I have a new code file that creates an export (export.csv attached) that needs to be used for the import again once the data has been revised.

The current code in import.php (provided for reference or use) uses a different csv file. So there are things happening in this file that does not need to happen with the new csv file. So what I want is a simpler import file written. Before we were converting values to names etc. That does not need to happen with the new import.

Since the export comes from the database, is modified, then all I need to do is have a script that will simply import in back in again. With whatever checking is needed to make sure it was done correctly and sucessfully etc. Just good code practices.

The one thing that needs to be considered is that all of the records that were exported may not be imported and that there may be new records in the import. If record id 23 was exported and modified then it should update record with id 23. Not add a new record.

You are free to choose to modify the existing import or create a new one. please stipulate when bidding which you prefer to do.

I am looking for someone to develop a flash counter for me. The counter is related to the amount of rainforest we are saving. Every 3 months we use a fixed % of our sales to buy rainforest – therefore the amount we buy each time changes due to increasing or decreasing sales.

The flash counter will use a font and style I have setup, the numbers should roll up like the mile counter on a car (i.e. the numbers should not simply just change to the new number)

The flash counter should use 3 values which it reads from an external text file

1. The exact time and date we bought rainforest last.

e.g. 12:00pm 01/05/09 (or any variant of this e.g. 01/05/2009 1200)

2. The exact total of rainforest we had at this time and date.

e.g. 2405

3. The ratio/proportion/amount by which it should increase (we will calculate this figure based on the previous 3 months for example if we bought 300 in 93 days then the figure would be 3.23 and thus the counter would increase by 3.23 a day.

The text file would therefore read

12:00pm 01/05/09
2405
3.23

I would also like something else separate to this. It would be the amount of rainforest saved since the users last visit. This information should be stored in a cookie and then read by the flash counter.

e.g. 2405 on last visit and current counter now shows 2505 then it should show that 100 has been saved since the last visit.

Hello, I have a server with Ultrahosting which used to run really fast but has become super slow in the daytime. I increased the RAM to 4 Gigs thinking that would fix the problem but it didn’t.

This all came about within 2 week span so I know it is not due to a major traffic increase. I do operate a medium sized Vbulletin forum so I will only select someone that knows how Vbulletin works. In the event that its an issue.

I contacted tech support and they responded,

“After some investigation, we found that there seems to be a lot of traffic being generated to your server that is not valid. ie. A connection begins, but then goes no further and does not complete. This causes a lot of extra stress on the system and seems to be what is causing a great deal of the load.
It could be an “attack” although it is too weak to really be considered such. But it is definitely causing your issues.

Further investigation would need to be billed at our technical support rate of $75/hr; billed in 30 minute increments.
If you decide that this may be something you’d like us to continue to look into, we can provide a quote on the estimated time required.

This will be for a 2.5″ business card. You would be converting the images that make up the front of the card and the back of the card.

I need a PHP script that generates a .htaccess file that performs 301 redirections from a series of URLs on my domain to another URL, which may or may not be on the same domain.

The script would work as follows:

1. I enter one of my domains e.g.: domain.com

2. I choose whether or not to 301 redirect all URLs to another completely different URL or a related static URL on the same domain.

For a site that uses dynamic URLs, like this:

http://mydomain.com/?p=353

If I choose to redirect all dynamic URLs to a relevant static URL, the htaccess file might look something like:

Redirect permanent /?p=001 http://mydomain.com/001.php
Redirect permanent /?p=002 http://mydomain.com/002.php
Redirect permanent /?p=003 http://mydomain.com/003.php etc.

Otherwise all URLs permanently (301) redirect to the other location.

3. The script runs a “site:domain.com” in Google and Yahoo to compile a list (de-duped) of indexed URLs

4. The script then generate a .htaccess file 301 permanently redirecting all those URLs to either the other URL or the related static URL as demoed above.
