So I’m having a problem with a field in the MySQL database: it’s a bank account field called “bank” part of the “user” table. Every user has his own row with his bank savings. The problem is when 2 users share the same account in the bank (they can deposit or withdraw from the same raw in the database) … if they press the “withdraw” button at the same time and they both get all the money from the bank and they basically double their money (this is an exploit actually).
A lot of users did this and ended up with a lot of money. Is there a protection I can apply for this?
I was thinkin’ on locking that row but it also may happen one user to deposit and the other to withdraw at the same time … so sometimes that could affect a normal player …

Members can vote on other members contest entries once each, but not their own. Members are given one vote to use in the contest on some other user’s entry when they enter a contest. If you are not in the contest, you cannot vote in the contest. Fora specific contest, both entries and entrant votes should be restricted to one per user account.
Members can join as many contests as they want.
Each contest will be one of four kinds
1. Article Submission
2. Photo

However, this will be for real estate sites. It will need query search function on the user end – square foot, property type, city, price, and whatever fields may be added later on. Square foot and Price will be a range field (for example, between 500 sf and 1000 sf). Not all property types may be categorized the same from website to website (or with how my website categorizes it). The backend will need to coordinate between my site and the site being searched.
My thought on the process is:
1. User enters a search on my site
2. The search engine goes to a list of sites defined in the backend
3. Results are returned to the results page with basic information – address, city, price, square ft, etc.
4. When user clicks on a result, the user is taken to the site that the information came from.
